MachineExchange.com

MachineExchange.com is an online marketplace for buying and selling new, used and remade machinery and equipment. If you are a buyer, browse through our listings, select machinery or equipment of interest to you and contact the seller. If you are a seller, list your machinery and equipment for sale on our site to find a buyer.

Registration

To make listings on the site you need to register. It only takes a minute or so to complete the registration. As soon as you fill-up the registration form and click Register, an e-mail is sent asking you to verify your e-mail address. The e-mail contains a link which you need to click or copy and paste in your browser address bar. Once done, you are verified and your registration is enabled. We may ask for additional information like copies of your personal ID document, company registration certificate or other documents to verify your identity before your listings are approved.

Member Login

Your e-mail address is your login ID which, along with your password you selected while registering, will enable you to get access to the Member's Area of the site. From here you can create a new listing, upload pictures to your listings and edit existing ones. You can also change your password if you so wish and update your preference for newsletter.

Categories

Category headings convey broad meaning as to the type of machinery or equipment for sale. Suggest a new category or sub-category if your listing so requires. Listings are made free of cost for the present.

Listing Submission

When you wish to create a new listing, login to the Member's Area via the Member Login link at the top. Inside, click on the link New Listing in the left side menu. This will bring you to the category selection drop-down menu. You will note that most of the categories have an asterisk * mark while a few do not have this mark. You can publish a listing only in a category or sub-category which has an asterisk * mark. Please select a category most appropriate to your listing. As soon as you do, you will be taken to the listing form automatically. You can always go back and select another category if you made an incorrect choice.

In the listing form, items marked with a red * asterisk are compulsory, those unmarked are optional. There is no restriction on the length of your listing description but please be reasonable. Price field should have the appropriate currency stated. If you don't wish to state the price, you can fill-up Enquire or On Request. Location field is for the location of the machinery or equipment for sale. Once you have submitted the form, you can upload upto 5 pictures to your listing - maximum size 1024KB each - .gif, .png or .jpg format. The submitted listing remains hidden from the public until the Site Administrator approves it. Approvals take about 24 hours. Do not use all caps in the listing title - it will be rejected.

Bulk Uploads

Should you have 25 or more listings for simultaneous submission, you can send the data to us in the following format: Title, Description, Price, Condition, Location. We will upload them to your account on the server after which you will be able to manage the listings and add images. The service is provided free.

Listing Searches

While one can browse through the listings by category, people often search with keywords. The keyword based searches are confined to words appearing in the Listing Title and Description. So keep in mind while creating your listing to include keywords for which you would like your listing to be found by others. For example, if you are selling a fork lift and wish that others looking for such a 'lift' find your listing, you should include the word 'fork lift' in your listing. In addition to keywords, advanced search enables you to search based on category and filters set for that catregory.

Company Directory

The category Company Directory with sub-categories Machinery Manufacturers, Machinery Dealers and Service Providers is intended to be a directory of companies or firms engaged in these businesses. You may list your company or firm free of charge in the directory along with a link to your website. You can publish detailed information about your activities and upload your logo and other images as well. Listings in the directory are made for 10 years. We hope it will help you generate more business.

Favorites Link

At the bottom of the detailed listing page is the link to bookmark, Add-to-Favorites, listings you wish to short-list or contact later. To use this feature you must be a registered user at the site and logged-in. Click on Add-to-Favorites link to bookmark any listing. Links to bookmarked listings can be seen inside your Member Area from the My Favorites link in the left-side menu. If you wish to delete any bookmark, click on the bookmarked listing link - you will see that the bottom of the detailed listing page is now showing Remove-from-Favorites. Click on the remove link to remove the bookmark for this listing.

Listing Duration

Listings are made for 180 days and deleted automatically after this period. Expiry notices are sent 7 days before expiry and you can renew it for 180 days at a time if the machinery or equipment is still for sale, or make a new listing for 180 days. You can edit and update your listing anytime and as many times as necessary. You can mark it as Sold if you have sold the machinery or equipment. You can certainly delete it if it is no longer required.

Comment System

Logged in users can post comments and feedbacks on individual listings as well as members. All comments are monitored and, while it is OK to be critical should there be such a necessity, those with foul or abusive language will be deleted. A member repeatedly using such language will lose his/her membership privileges.

Site Navigation

We have tried to keep the navigation of the site as simple and intuitive as possible. The links at the top and the bottom will appear on all pages enabling you to go to any of these pages from anywhere on the site. The detailed listing page has the links to contact the person making the listing, tell a friend about a listing, bookmark it, print it, and more. The name on the header is linked to the Home Page and clicking on it will bring you to the front page from anywhere on the site. Listing stats are shown on the detailed listing page. In addition, your Member Area will have information on the number of people who contacted you via the Contact Form. Do give your suggestions on improvement - it will be appreciated.

Membership Privileges

Do not misuse or abuse the site - you may loose your membership. Spamming is strictly prohibited and will result in instant termination of membership. Membership privileges are granted and can be terminated solely at our discretion.

Caveat and Disclaimer

There is no way for us to verify the accuracy of listings posted on our site although we do take general precautions to filter out listings that, in our opinion, may be fake or frivolous. Report to us in case you have been cheated by any of our members to enable us to investigate and remove him/her from the site. Do exercise due-diligence before buying or selling anything, you are solely responsible for your decisions. Our services are provided "As Is" without any warranty or guarantee of any kind.

Privacy Policy

Information Collected

We require your name, e-mail address, company name, physical address and telephone number to be submitted while registering and will be published with your listing on our site so that people interested in your machinery or equipment can contact you. We may communicate with you occasionally in connection with the services provided by us.

Sharing Information

We do not share information with third parties. Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our website.

Business Transition

In the event MachineExchange.com goes through a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users' personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post the changes here so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.
